Sara Melson
I've decided to go ahead and check out Sara Melson today because she described herself as psychedelic and as you may or may not know, I love psychedelic music. Well you don't hear many ladies who refer to themselves in this way, so let's give it a go. She also said something about "folk rock" up there... And while I do actually like some folk rock, it's a lot more hit & miss.

FEEL IT COMING
Really nice intro that does sound quite psychedelic actually. Great voice. This girl has a really beautiful almost haunting voice. I dig it. I like the guitar work and the combination of the guitar with the piano is working real nice in this track. Ah yes, talking about music, it's like dancing about donkey legs, ain't it? Huh? What I mean is, I do think this is a nice tune and I'd like you to listen to it.

Alright then, there it is, I mean, not that it would be too hard to find. But I shouldn't make you work too hard, I know. It's hard out there in internet land. Clicking your mouse and all of that shit.
But back to FEEL IT COMING. I like this song, it's pretty good. Yup. I'm not going to say I'm 100% won over. But it's a helluva a lot better than most stuff you hear on the radio that's for sure. It actually has a bit of an Oasis vibe which is pretty cool. I wanted to check to see if she lists Oasis as an influence and she does, I can hear it in that song. She also has Primal Scream listed, she's really winning me over now. Great stuff. Brian Eno, My Bloody Valentine, Velvet Underground, The Beatles, Pink Floyd, The Band... this is some pretty good stuff. Oh wait, this is sounds like not influenced? Well whatever. Yeah I can dig it. I'm not so sure about some... Well.. you know, let's move along. I am not making any sense anymore.
HARD PRESSED
I like this one too. Although I'm a little concerned by the feeling that Sara could get a bit samey. We'll see. It's too early to call it yet. She may have her more "single" oriented stuff on the MySpace ya dig. That's sort of like singles right.
NEVER BEEN HURT
More of a slow piano ballad. I'm digging this one too alright. Yup. Alright, my reviews really suck. Just check it out and see if you like it. I'm giving it a thumbs up. Sara Melson is good.

I haven't talked about how she looks... but of course she's a female singer that seems to be getting some sort of push so yeah, she's pretty. What's up with that. I want to listen to some ugly chick music personally. It's hard to take all of these sorts of womens seriously, but isn't that always the case?
OK, sorry Sara. If you are reading this, you may have become disappointed. Well let me say, I am insane - and I want to apologize. You are a lovely singer and... assuming you wrote these songs (I'm too lazy to check) a pretty darn good songwriter too. Although, I must say, that's just first impressions talking.
